Lady Luck Showtime Chorus is an award-winning chorus and an affiliate of Sweet Adelines International. Members are enthusiastic, high-energy singers dedicated to promoting and educating women in the uniquely American singing style of barbershop four-part harmony acapella singing.
Our Mission Statement evolves around LOVE, JOY, and KINDNESS. What is Barbershop? Barbershop is a sound. Barbershop is a style. Barbershop is a show. Poise, command, and control are part of the picture. We have learned to showcase our art form in a fascinating number of ways - through colorful costumes, elaborate choreography, dramatic makeup, and staging. We present the very best of our craft whenever and wherever we perform. We act, we react, we share, we give, we perform, and we entertain.
We are just like you! Our members come from all over the Las Vegas area, including Pahrump and Mesquite to sing and enjoy the friendships made every week. We are teachers, students of both high school and universities, nurses, retirees, homemakers, writers, and artists, and from all kinds of musical backgrounds. None of us are 'professional' singers.. we are all just like YOU!
Under the direction of Rose Hettinga and Jan Sloan, our directors, each rehearsal is a lesson in vocal and performance skills. Each member has the opportunity to develop creative skills in choreography, staging, costume design, scripting, and leadership.
